BACKGROUND / CARLOS VILLAURRUTIA

Experience informs judgment.

Carlos Villaurrutia grew up in aviation, spending afternoons after school at McAllen Aviation Co., his family’s fixed-base operation (FBO) in McAllen, Texas. The family’s aviation roots date to the early 1980s. He began working alongside his parents in the early 2000s before establishing AIRVICA.

As a pre-owned aircraft dealer, he purchased and held aircraft for resale while also representing clients in acquisitions and sales. His specialty is aviation market intelligence: finding specialized aircraft for commissioned transactions and identifying off-market opportunities through his broker network.

He also owned a Mexico-based charter operation holding an Air Operator Certificate issued by Mexico’s Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC), where he focused on market intelligence and international flight operations.

His work has served Fortune 500 companies, Latin music artists, music producers, government entities, private equity firms, and business leaders. Across the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Europe, his transaction experience extends from letter of intent through closing and delivery.

This experience reflects Carlos’s career across prior aviation activities and his leadership of Cerulean Aero.
